Progressed Moon in Leo: Cat of the Year(s)

It's been such a long time since I've posted on my astrology blog that I might have lost all 17 of my dear readers. I've also completely forgotten basic HTML. But I've been wanting to revive this blog for a while, so I won't fret about the lack of formatting. I'd pretty much stopped posting after Trump was (or wasn't) elected. I drowned my sorrows in Instagram, with my cat (obviously a Leo animal), Little Franklin (his account is @little_franklin_). Much to my surprise, it was there, in the Cats of Instagram community (#coicommunity), that I found joy, and real friends all over the world, as befits progressed Moon going through my 11th house. Such a literal read of the Leo/11th house combination: online cat friends. But it was true, and not all typical of my prior social media experience. Also much to my surprise, as my personal life fell apart, came together, and fell apart again, Little Franklin was twice voted Cat of the Year (April 2017 and March 2018) on Instagram. The only social functions I have truly enjoyed during the past two years have been cat "pawties" on Instagram, which necessitated my teaching myself how to photo-edit; it's now my favorite art form, since it's basically collage. The 11th house is attuned to reform, and I've also gotten into "cativism," in terms of helping fund-raise for cats in need and raise awareness of animal rights following some horrendous instances of cats dying from animal torture. My progressed Moon entered my 12th house last month; tomorrow it ingresses into Virgo (tellingly, the day before transiting Chiron ingresses into Aries). I already sense the shift. Whatever happens, I hope to return to my astrology blog, because I have missed astrologizing.

Start Counting (and Telling, and Writing) How Many Ways You Love _______

Throw off the Mercury Retrograde shackles today and express yourself romantically, in as creative a way as you can. Suggestions: write a poem, a song, a love letter; present a "just because" and utterly impractical token of affection; or go out (or stay in) for a candlelit dinner featuring at least one aphrodisical dish (which need not be caviar; some gourmands swoon more over mac 'n' cheese).

If you happen not to be someone's better, worse, shorter, or taller half, this is a great day to go on a date, or at least set one up. Your confidence and appeal are probably on a justified rise, so cultivate it; this is not the time to be bashful.

Also, the timing couldn't be better for mending fences, whether of romantic, platonic, plutonic, or familial construction. Mercury is still Retrograde, so the mending will necessarily take time, not be resolved overnight -- but far better to start the healing process now than let any negativity or resentment slide any further.

For those of you seeking an astrological explanation of the above, today features a rather impressive triple conjunction of the Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Leo. We began with the Sun-Venus conjunction at 8:08 a.m. EDT; the Mercury-Venus conjunction is exact at 7:21 p.m. EDT; the Sun-Mercury conjunction, at 9:04 p.m.

Please take note that the Moon will be in Pisces until 8:01 p.m. EDT; you may feel some combination of tender, sleepy, weepy, sentimental, wistful, and/or inspired until then. When the Moon transits into fiery Aries, you may get a second wind and feel more energetic and purposeful.

Second Lunar Eclipse of the Summer

Exact at 8:55 p.m. EDT, get ready to howl at the Moon! Loudest howlers will be Leos, Aquarians, Geminis, and Sagittarians, but even if you're another Sun sign, much light will be shed on a situation that's been building for the past two weeks.

You can run but you can't hide from this most publicly oriented of lunations. If you're seeking fame and/or friends, take my advice and don't run.
